Utilizing an additional charging coil helps transfer more power wirelessly without generating too much heat.
The dock uses the pretty much universal Qi wireless charging standard, so even if you don’t have a phone compatible with the faster charging mode, it’ll still charge at its normal wireless charging rate.
Alongside the Galaxy S9, some of the phones compatible with faster charging are the S8, S8+, S7, S7 Edge, and Note 5. This runs at 5V 2A.
Phones such as the iPhone 8, iPhone X, and Galaxy S6 will still charge from the dock at their usual wireless speed, despite not being compatible with the faster charging mode. This should be 5V 1A.
The dock is weighted and equipped with an anti-slip base for stability. There’s room for most cases to be used whether you have the phone docked in portrait or landscape.
There’s a smooth glowing LED along the bottom edge, and it turns off after a few seconds so it doesn’t keep you up at night. There’s a short MicroUSB cable included to power it, but you’ll need to supply your own USB power.
It’s available now directly from Pleson’s Amazon US store. It’s also sold on Amazon UK under sister brand, Puleson.

Add wireless charging to your phone
Got an older phone without wireless charging? You can also pick up paper-thin adapters that add wireless charging compatibility to your existing phone. You can get them for anything with MicroUSB charging, so tablets are in too. There are also adapters with Lightning connectors to add wireless charging to an older iPhone.
It’s pretty easy to do, but ideally you’ll need to have a case on your phone.
The thin wireless charging receiver sits between your case and the back of your phone, whilst a thin charging cable connects to your phones usual charging socket.
It’ll sit nice and flush against the bottom of your phone, just be prepared to get used to disconnecting it with your fingernails every time you want an old-fashioned wired charge.
